“This (single) is the taste of our second album.”
- Dio (vocalist)
IGMO released a new single, “Dystopian Tropical Sojourn”. This is their first single after 'Take It Over', their debut album.
Released by Soundjana Creative, “Dystopian Tropical Sojourn” retains the IGMO’s 70’s rock DNA. However, unlike anything else in their first album, they placed some outside elements such as ambient and drop-tuned guitar.
Summing up: It’s a hard rock tune with some post-rock and doom flavors.
Lyrically, “Dystopian Tropical Sojourn” showcases fantasy-themed lyrics. They were written by Dio and Iga (guitarist) and talks about how human developments affect our surroundings. In this track, they imagined themselves to be a “yeti who is gradually losing his home due to global warming.”
“I think it’s a metaphor for our daily issues. As a race, we’re growing, yet we also sacrificed a lot of things,” Iga said.
Dio also composed, produced, mixed, and mastered the track. All recordings were done in RD Studio, Kediri.
Wake up, in a strange reverb
Topsy-turvydom, Shipwreck, Melted iceberg
Behold to the hazy skies, that’s heated
Your polar coordinates, fading away
Fading away
Howling gales blown you away
Along with the serried fury
The fuse of chaos you ignited
The white isn’t like before
Get packed and ready for the age of destruction
Dig your footsteps on the holy land
Hold on the flail and shatter it around
You’re longing for another doomsday
You exist, You butcher, You will, You are
I’ve lost to the forgered winner
From the battle that never ever occurred
